Congress leader and Sangareddy MLA Jagga Reddy is known for his sharp criticism of TRS chief Chandrasekhara Rao. He overcame the TRS wave this time and got elected from Sangareddy segment. Jagga Reddy was once jailed for his open confrontation with KCR regime.
After getting elected now, Jagga Reddy takes a vow he will not make criticism of KCR during this term but he would instead meet the CM any number of times for the sake of welfare of people in his segment. In the past, Jagga Reddy constantly attacked KCR saying his was a ‘dorala palana’ (rule of landlords) in which the poor people were suffering due to injustice and exploitation of highest order.
Jagga Reddy used to call KCR as a CM of more words and less deeds, which was why the Telangana people were facing untold problems. The newly elected MLA has now changed his stand saying his approach from now on would be to meet KCR at every given opportunity to ask for development of his constituency. Jagga Reddy said there is a need for increasing Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak assistance to Rs. 1.5 lakh and the money should be handed over to beneficiaries a month in advance.
The big blow suffered by Congress in Telangana polls has taken its leaders by surprise and shock. In the 119-member House, the Congress has just 19 MLAs which is why Congress leaders are taking caution in whatever they speak.
