Karnataka Ex CM’s son Nikhil is making his debut this year in Kannada and Telugu with the movie Jaguar. The film is all set to mark the costliest film of any debutant in South Indian cinema. Nikhil happens to be the grandson of Ex Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda. Mahadev directed the movie which has been made on a budget of Rs 70 crores. The audio of the film has been launced in a lavish grand event last night in Hyderabad in the presence of film fraternities and politicians.
The whole Tollywood has been left shocked with the lavish visuals from the released theatrical trailer. An inside source revealed that the makers are in plans to spend Rs 7 crores for publicity which is huge for a South Indian movie and is even more than the budget of small films down South. Top class technicians worked for the movie and they have been paid hefty remunerations for the film. Veteran actor Jagapathi Babu has been charging Rs 50 lakhs for a role however he has been offered Rs 1.5 crores. Star writer V Vijayendra Prasad has been paid Rs 75 lakhs for the story penned.
The makers are concentrating much on the film promotions. Though Nikhil looks promising on screen, we have to wait till the film releases to see if the film stands strong and emerges as a hit.
