Questioning the possibility of making vast majority of digital-illiterate population to move towards cashless transactions, Leader of Opposition in Telangana assembly today said first he need to educate his wife on usage of skype machines, as she goes every week to vegetable market.
Unfortunately, he said he is also not familiar with skype machines. It is the case of many people who daily goes for various financial transactions. As most of the people are not literate, he fears that it would take few years to familiarise cashless transactions to all people.
Assuring the Chief Minister that the opposition will be with him in supporting the Centre’s demonetization move. But, he cautioned that we need to go ahead only after resolving the hardships people are facing. “We should not give a negative impression to the people that we are also joining in adding problems to them”, he added.
Earlier, initiating discussion on this issue on the first day of the winter session of prevented Jana Reddy from blaming the Narendra Modi government. Rao humbly interrupted him twice requesting “kindly don’t raise police issues here, let us confine to public difficulties.” He made it clear that this is not the forum to discuss on a policy, in which state government has no say.
When Jana Reddy referring views of some economists, KCR taking those figures lightly said economists are bound to differ as it is an extraordinary decision. Hoping Telangana state can come out easily from the problems of demonetization, Chief Minister said that as of now the state stands first in cashless transactions at national level.
