Everybody listened curiously when Jana Sena lone MLA Rapaka Vara Prasad rose to speak on the thanksgiving motion to Governor’s speech in the AP Assembly. His comment on special status triggered criticism from the ruling YCP. He asked the YCP to get special status as its friendly party BJP is ruling at the Centre. YCP Chief Whip Srikant Reddy quickly countered saying that their party is not an ally of BJP in elections but it would continue demanding status.
Then the Jana Sena MLA withdrew his remark and said mockingly this time that he had confidence in CM Jaganmohan Reddy who is known for his straightforwardness. Rapaka recalled the slogan ‘madama thippadu, mata thappadu’ and asked Jagan to fulfill all the promises that were made in the YCP manifesto.
Jana Sena MLA also asked YCP not to target him as he is the only MLA representing his party in the house.
