With his fiery, thundering ‘kavathu’ speech yesterday, Pawan Kalyan made no big gains except that he has given one more solid opportunity to TDP leaders to make allegations of secret alliance between Jana Sena, BJP and YCP.
By mainly targeting Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh in his hard-hitting speech, Pawan has indicated his priorities for coming 2019 elections. Obviously, he is all set to challenge and change the status quo, ie the existing administration led by Chandrababu.
Pawan could not have found any fault with Babu’s leadership as far as his experience and administrative capabilities are concerned. So, Jana Senani chose to make an outright attack on Lokesh’s alleged ambition to become CM and also on alleged corruption by Janmabhoomi Committees, sand and liquor mafias.
In the process of criticising ruling party more, Jana Senani forgot to attack Modi government at the Centre at a time when Special Status was denied to AP and when there was a widespread feeling of distrust and betrayal among people against Centre. Pawan also failed to realise the importance of criticising Jaganmohan Reddy with regard to CBI illegal assets cases and charges of huge corruption during YSR’s regime. Did Pawan deliberately go soft on BJP and TDP? It is the question being asked around for a long time now. He has failed to answer this clearly.
Quickly taking the opportunity, TDP leaders began an equally hard-hitting attack on Jana Senani and his advisors. Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu now went to the extent of saying that ‘kavathu’ speech exposed Pawan’s ignorance of many issues confronting AP right now.
On charges of corruption, Ramakrishnudu says that Pawan should have talked more about multi-crore Rafael jet fighter scam which is the brainchild of PM Modi and which is the talk of nation as of now. Jana Senani should have spoken more about economic excesses and Rs. 1 lakh crore corruption of Jagan during his father’s time. Instead of talking about those things, Pawan took lot of pains to attack Naidu and his son which is nothing but an indication of his ignorance and lack of wisdom, says the Minister.
Ramakrishudu appealed to AP leaders not to tarnish the image of the state as it required image-building for its future growth. Right now, AP stands in third place in corruption-free states in the country. A survey by Transparency International of India has said that there is far less corruption in AP than in most other states in India.
Finally, Ramakrishnudu concluded saying Pawan’s ‘kavathu’ served only one purpose, ie to confirm again his Jana Sena’s secret deal with BJP and YCP.
There is no choice left for Pawan but to go on defensive mode for the rest of campaigning for 2019.
