Janasena party chief Pawan Kalyan has been setting trend in allotting tickets. People who don’t have any money power but have worked on social causes for the last few years are getting Janasena tickets. Gedela Gyana Sagar, known as Gedela Chaitanya, son of an RTC bus conductor (retired), who impressed Pawan Kalyan with his work in Uddanam gets Janasena MLA ticket. This is appreciated a lot by the media, local people and social media.
It is known news that a commoner getting an opportunity to contest as MLA from a political party is rare and usually only the influential people or wealthy people get MLA tickets from these political parties. But sometimes the unusual happens and it takes place in Srikakulam district and it happened because of Janasena. Gedela Chaitanya got Janasena Party ticket from Pathapatnam Assembly constituency. Chaitanya, who has no political background, hails from Tunglam village in Hiramandalam mandal, one of the Vamasadhara project-affected areas in Srikakulam district, and he is presently a resident of Srikakulam town.
Gedela Chaitanya is just 28 years old, studied CA and it was him who brought the Uddanam kidney issue to the notice of Pawan Kalyan after which Janasena chief did several campaigns and exerted pressure on the State government to initiate measures such as setting up dialysis centres and providing financial assistance to the patients. We will have to wait and see whether people will vote for him or not.
