A perfect release date will often work wonders for the a big ticket film. On numerous occasions it is proved that an ideal release date will define the film’s box office success range. This is the reason why most of our filmmakers and heroes plan well ahead to release their films during holidays , festival seasons and long weekends. Mythri Movie Makers, who are bankrolling NTR’s Janatha Garage, followed a similar strategy and locked August 12th as the release date to cash in on the long weekend followed by Independence Day holiday.
August 12th is an ideal date because there are no notable releases and also the long weekend will help the film register strong collections irrespective of the talk. As Janatha Garage is carrying huge expectations, trade circles opined that it has a good chance of becoming the highest grossing film in NTR’s career. But, the delay in the post production work has forced the makers to defer the release date.
They have now locked September 2nd as the release date to make use of the Vinayaka Chaviti holiday, but trade circles say that it might not help much as Vinayaka Chaviti is not a movie holiday like Dusheera and Sankranthi. Whatever may be the reason for the delay, it is sure that Janatha Garage has missed out an ideal date.
