Jayalalithaa health updates
As Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s health continues to be very critical at Apollo Hospital and according to Chief Operating Officer Subbiah Viswanathan she is on ECMO and other life support systems, the focus now is shifting towards possible political scenario of Tamil Nadu after her.
At the same time, her arch rival and DMK chief M Karunanidhi is also hospitalised. Though he said to be recovered well, may unable to lead the party for a long. So he had already named his son M K Stalin as his successor.
All these developments indicating the scope for a see change in the political scenario of the state. If these two leaders left the political arena, analysts predicts the influence of regional parties also likely to be on the fall in this southern state, after over half centenary.
Among national parties, both Congress and BJP may aggressively makes moves to take inroads into state politics. After knowing Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi rushed to the Apollo Hospital this morning to enquire about health condition of Jayalalitha, the BJP also immediately pushed union minister M Venkaiah Naidu to follow the suit.
The million dollar question that going around political circle is whether AIDMK will form the government in her absence remaining intact or pushes the state for presidential rule ? That’s all likely to be dependent on how various power centers within the party try to establish themselves.
The opposition DMK also may not remain silent and may also explore possibilities of forming its government in the vent of rift among AIADMK MLAs. However, BJP may not be ready to facilitate such a scenario, as Congress is an allay of DMK and may prefer for president’s rule.
In the event of president’s rule, BJP may explore to absorb a potential section of AIADMK leadership, so that to evolve itself as a potential political party in the state. But the main worry for the party is it has no popular public personality in the state, to influence both leaders of other parties and also people at large.
