Jayalalithaa Jayalalitha dead passed away
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa died at a hospital here on Monday night, a day after she suffered a cardiac arrest. She was 68.
In a statement issued here, Apollo Hospitals said: “It is with indescribable grief, we announce the sad demise of our esteemed Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Puratchi Thalaivi Amma at 11.30 p.m. today (Sunday).”
It is learnt Jayalalithaa’s body will be taken to her residence at Poes Garden first.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday condoled the death of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, saying that her death had left a huge void in Indian politics.

Defining Jayalalithaa as a mass leader, Modi in another tweet wrote: “Jayalalithaaji’s connect with citizens, concern for welfare of the poor, the women and marginalized will always be a source of inspiration.”

“My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Tamil Nadu in this hour of grief,” he said.
“May the Almighty grant them the strength to bear this irreparable loss with courage and fortitude,” the Prime Minister said, adding, “I will always cherish the innumerable occasions when I had the opportunity to interact with Jayalalithaaji. May her soul rest in peace.”
