New Delhi: Wife of national Kabaddi champion Rohit, who represented for Bengaluru Bulls in this year, allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself to ceiling fan at her in-laws house in West Delhi on Wednesday. She also reportedly left 2-hour long video in which she alleged that she was facing mental and physical harassment by her husband and her in-laws.
This is the second marriage for Rohit Chillar, who had represented Patna Pirates and later Bengaluru Bulls in Pro-Kabaddi League (PKL). He did not find place in World Cup this year.
A suicide note was found with the victim and a case has been registered against the Rohit Chillar and her in-laws, Vijay Kumar DCP West Delhi said. The incident happened when victim’s husband is away in Mumbai. The police launched investigation.
Rohit Chillar, a native of Nizampur village in the outskirts of Delhi, joined the Indian Navy in 2009. A son of national Kabaddi player himself, Rohit got call from the national selectors in 2011.
