Hero Kalyan Ram’s recent disaster at the box office is Sher. It was such a disappointing film that the producer who knew the film’s fate even before the release decided it is of no use to spend on the promotion, publicity of the film. Kalyan Ram should take a serious note of his career, put his ego behind and do some introspection. The producer of Sher had spent nearly 11 to 15 crores on the movie and by afternoon, the theatres were empty. Pataas was a hit only because of director Anil Ravipudi. Had the film released after Puri Jagan and NTR’s Temper it wouldn’t have worked at all. Director Mallikarjun who made Sher had already directed two films “Abhimanyu” and “Kalyanram Kathi” and both bombed at the box office, this is the third failure in their combination.
Kalyan Ram should continue to produce films or act in small budget films that break even soon at the box office. There is no point in churning out film after film knowing that he doesn’t have a market. The industry is changing for the good and audience have become receptive to new subjects. Either the actor should take up a path breaking subject and surprise the audience or do something regular and safe within reasonable and modest budget that doesn’t pinch his pocket or the others.
