Kambhampati Hari Babu has been appointed as BJP National Executive Body Member. BJP National President Amit Shah announced the same in a press meet. The move comes after Hari Babu has quit the AP BJP President Post.
In his resignation letter to Amit Shah, Hari Babu stated that, in order to make young leaders a greater part in the party’s development in AP, and in view of the 2019 Polls he has resigned. While political circles strongly affirm that, Hari Babu was partially forced to resign, given his defensive approach in tackling TDP in the state.
BJP High Command is likely to complete the appointment of new AP BJP President by today evening.
Reacting to Hari Babu’s resignation, MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju said, ‘we have requested the High Command to give Hari Babu a place in the Cabinet’.
It will be interesting to see whether Hari Babu can bag a cabinet ministry after the 2019 General Polls, with analysts predicting BJP-led NDA to form the government even in 2019.
