Kangana Ranaut directed and produced Emergency and she played the lead role in the film. Emergency is stuck with censor issues and the Revising Committee of the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has suggested several changes to clear the release hurdles. In the latest hearing in the Bombay High Court, the representatives on behalf of the producers have agreed to make the suggested changes and they have submitted the format with the changes. The Censor Board of Film Certification is yet to respond for the same now. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for October 3rd.
The Censor Board of Film Certification suggested 13 cuts along with some changes but the certificate was not issued as the changes weren’t made. At the same time, the film received the heat from the Sikh communities as they predicted that the Sikh community is presented in a bad light. Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman and the late Satish Kaushil will be seen in other important roles. Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films are the producers. The new release date of the film will be announced after the clearance from the CBFC is obtained.
