BJP AP President Kanna Laxminarayana once again made it clear that the issue of Special Status is a closed chapter and that there is no use going on making a demand for the same. He made this sensational comment amid reports of Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy likely to raise this issue during the coming visit of PM Modi to Tirupati on June 9 ie coming Sunday. Jagan earlier said in his Delhi press conference that he would humbly say ‘Sir Please’ and request for special status every time he would meet PM.
Understandably, Kanna’s comment was aimed at the CM himself. Moreover, there are high expectations among the voters that Jagan would somehow convince, persuade and get the Centre to give special status. Kanna asserted that their party would remain committed to the development of AP. But he didn’t talk about the special package as Jagan had already talked against this saying that it became a hurdle for achieving special status.
