BJP Rajya Sabha MP GVL Narasimha Rao faced a bitter experience while addressing a press conference at the party main office in Delhi. An attacker threw shoes at GVL. The attacker was an anti-Modi sympathiser of LK Advani. He was identified as Dr Shakthi Bhargava who hails from Kanpur. He was trying to express his anger against Modi and his yes-men.
After the rise of Modi, many senior leaders including Murli Manohar Joshi were receiving bad treatment and they were being mercilessly sidelined. Both Advani and Joshi were ignored in this election. The followers of Joshi were unhappy over denial of ticket to him.
GVL was long seen as an yes-man of Modi and he has been addressing press conferences in his capacity as the party spokesman. The entire BJP leadership was shocked at the bold act of the Kanpur doctor. He was caught by BJP activists and handed over to the police.
