Are strong Kapu leaders on the verge of leaving TDP to join YCP? MLA Bonda Uma skipped the meeting of Chandrababu Naidu at his Vundavalli residence. He also didn’t turn up at the reception given to Naidu at the Gannavaram airport yesterday night. Bonda Uma issue triggered huge speculation on the likelihood of Kapu leaders leaving the TDP soon.
Bonda Uma was one of the many Kapu leaders who held a meeting in Kakinada a week ago. The other leaders were Jyothula Nehru, Thota Trimurthulu, and others. Now the rumours are circulating that these leaders have already taken a joint decision to join the BJP whose state unit president Kanna Laxminarayana belongs to their community. The BJP high command is pinning hopes on winning over the Kapus to increase its vote bank immediately. In the coming days, the BJP is going to target Kapu leaders in the ruling YCP as well.
