Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has been making elaborate exercise to counter opposition parties’ tirade against his government, who are busily engaged in listing out his government’s unfulfilled promises in the ensuing winter session of the State Assembly, by presenting a report on the performance of his government.
As he has already completed half of his five-year term on December 2, he is preparing to submit a progress report in the session. He has been holding extensive consultations with his ministerial colleagues and party legislators in this regard. He is proposing to present department-wise performance of his government during last 30 months.
It is evident all the three opposition parties in the assembly are chalking out strategies to pointing out that the government failed in fulfilling most of its poll promises.
It may be recalled that TRS was restrained from celebrating its half-way mark on December 2, due demonetisation. So, Rao making efforts to use the assembly session to focus on the two and a half year achievements of his government to people.
Chief Minister has directed all the ministers to attend the session fully prepared on their respective subjects. He also asked ministers and MLAs to prepare themselves on all key issues concerning people to resist the opposition’s attack on any issue.
Already Congress and BJP held their legislature party meetings and TDP is meeting today. Already they have expressed their apprehensions over the government’s attempt to avoid assembly sessions to maximum possible. Pointing out the government’s attempts to held very brief session, they are insisting for a lengthy session.
Chief Minister is also seems to be determined to counter oppositions attacks from the floor of the house only by having session at least for 15 days. According to party sources, the Chief Minister is firm to give a fitting reply to the opposition’s criticisms.
The Chief Minister is holding his party’s legislature party meeting on December 15, a day ahead of the commencement of the winter session, so that to prepare them aggressive to face opposition’s tirade.
