Ever since monsoon started, media came out heavily on state government making stories and news items on Hyderabad city road conditions which were pathetic for commuters. However, it seems that the state government had come forward to revamp the city roads. In this regard, chief minister KCR held a review meeting with GHMC officials at his Camp Office.
He ordered the officials to take up the road repair works within 10 days and complete them within a month. All the damaged roads should be needed immediate attention and work on them , he informed.
KCR asked the officials to prepare a list of damaged roads and call for online tenders and it should be done in very short span of time. GHMC officials should speak to Metro officials to sought their help to repair the roads wherever Metro rails works have been carried out, the CM added. The Chief Engineer of National Highways was also present at the meeting and as the national highway passes through the city, KCR asked them to start-up the works immediately.
“GHMC should use modern technology to revamp the roads which should long last and not even a small patch should be neglected,” the CM said. It has been decided by the CM that as part of special road drive in city, renewals of 1,000 kilometre to be made with black top roads and 400 kilometres to be made with white top roads at the total cost of Rs 500 crore.
Let us wait and see will GHMC officials carry out all the orders of the CM or will they stick to their regular shabby works.
