Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter and Nizamabad MP K Kavitha is nowadays has been considered as a minister-in-waiting since. Speculations are arising that she may join Narendra Modi’s cabinet at any time. Particularly recently growing comradeship between the Chief Minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is strengthening such speculations.
However, whether TRS joins union cabinet or not, some sources indicating that Chief Minister is thinking of to hand over party’s organisational responsibilities to his daughter. As the party organisational structure is very lose and proper committees are not formed at various levels, Rao is realising the need to strength the party structure by the time of 2019 polls.
As he is being pre-occupied with governance issues, he felt she would be a suitable option to monitor party affairs. Party sources felt that most likely she may be elevated as Executive President of the party.
In fact, Chief Minister realised the need for strengthening the party at the time of his government formation itself. He proposed to entrust party affairs to his son K Tarakarama Rao by removing him from the cabinet. However, his son has reportedly preferred to remain in the cabinet. So plans for party organisational issues were kept in cold storage.
Rao is now contemplating to makes major changes in the organisational structure of the party, in which Kavitha is most likely to play a key role. If the party decides to join Narendra Modi cabinet, senior leaders K Keshava Rao (Rajya Sabha) and A P Jitender Reddy (Lok Sabha) are most likely to be inducted into the cabinet.
Kavitha is already exposed with her brilliant organisational skills. Since Telangana agitation as president of Telangana Jagriti, she has been taking up several activities all over the state. She has credited of popularising Telangana’s native `Bathukamma’ festival all over the world.
