It is known the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has won just two MLA seats in the 119-strong Telangana Assembly in the recent elections. CM K Chandrasekhara Rao is trying to win over these two MLAs as well and see that the TDP is totally emptied out in the House. Already, KCR has seen to it that four Congress MLCs make a plea for merger of their unit in Legislative Council with the TRS.
Rumours are circulating in Khammam district and in political circles that Sathupalli’s TDP MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah is considering actively to join the TRS. A senior MP of the TRS is making hectic efforts to convince Veeraiah. Following this, Veeraiah has held a meeting with Aswaraopeta’s TDP MLA Meccha Nageswara Rao. TRS wants both these MLAs to leave TDP and join it.
While Veeraiah is considering to join the TRS, Meccha Nageswara Rao is not willing to leave the TDP. Veeraiah is trying to convince Nageswara Rao.
Right from the beginning, KCR’s game plan is to attract and win over MLAs and MLCs and other people’s representatives from the rival parties. In majority cases, KCR’s party succeeds in winning over these leaders as it makes such good offers that they cannot refuse. KCR also uses other tactics of embarrassment and political threats to attract leaders from rival parties.
