The TRS is going to implement the same plan already carried out in Telangana Legislative Council in the Assembly also. CM K Chandrasekhara Rao has set a target to win over nearly 14 MLAs from the Congress so that the Congress Legislature Party will be merged with the TRS party. This will meet the two-thirds majority required for the merger as the Congress won 19 MLAs seats in 119-member House.
Once this game plan is successfully implemented, KCR will move to remove the Opposition party status to the Congress in the Assembly as well. Already, it has happened in the Council where four Congress MLCs have merged with the TRS reducing the Congress party without necessary number to enjoy the opposition party status.
With the TRS chief using all his tactics, the Congress leaders are not able to come out with suitable plans to counter KCR’s moves and strategies. Ever since the formation of separate Telangana, there is a reversal of roles between the Congress and the TRS. Prior to bifurcation, KCR told Sonia Gandhi that he would merge the TRS with the Congress party right after the Centre announced separate Telangana.
But once the Congress government formed separate state, the KCR party changed tactics and proposed an alliance after the polls. Later, KCR took a totally anti-Congress stand after coming to power and, now, the TRS chief is attacking the very existence of the Congress party in Telangana state.
