Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has decided to invite 412 dalits from Huzurabad constituency to Pragathi Bhavan on July 26 for discussion on his newly-announced Dalit Bandhu scheme.
KCR is leaving no stone unturned to defeat Etela Rajender in upcoming Huzurabad Assembly bypoll and his latest attempt is being seen in political circles as a desperate bid to woo dalits, who comprise a majority of voters in Huzurabad constituency.
KCR will hold a meeting with 412 dalits for entire day at Pragathi Bhavan. He will host a lunch for them at Pragathi Bhavan.
These 412 dalits will be selected from all villages and towns in Huzurabad constituency.
From every village, four dalits will be selected (two men and two women) and from every ward in each municipality, four dalits will be selected (two men and two women).
KCR had earlier announced to launch Dalit Bandhu from Huzurabad constituency on a pilot basis and extend the scheme to entire state later after rectifying lapses, if any, detected in the pilot programme.
KCR said, “On July 26, selected participants will leave from their village and reach mandal head quarters at 7 am. After breakfast, they will reach Huzurabad town by special buses arranged by state government. They will pay tributes to the Babasaheb Ambedkar Statue and travel by buses to Hyderabad and reach Pragathi Bhavan by 11 am.”
KCR will explain to them about the main objective of Dalit Bandhu scheme, implementation, supervision and monitoring and measures to be taken to make the scheme a big success.
KCR would explain to them in detail about the Dalit Bandhu Scheme, which would start in Huzurabad first very soon, how everyone should get involved, the aims and objectives of the programme, how to take this programme to the dalits, how to coordinate with the officials. The CM would explain everything in the interactive session and create awareness among them.
The awareness programme will end in the evening.
