Telangana CM Chandrasekhar Rao has no scarcity for novel techniques to save his TRS party from any crisis. In recent days ahead of the April 11 election, the TRS is facing a new threat from the pro-Telangana forces and organisations across the state. They are openly questioning the TRS failures in respect of delivery of the KCR government’s promises. The Osmania University students have once again brought up the issue of Telangana backwardness and its aspirations.
Against this backdrop, KCR began the slogan of Reunification of Telangana. This is just another name for his Operation Aakarsh to attract strong leaders and their cadres from other parties. KCR has been doing this ever since founding his party. He has successfully blackmailed many leaders under the name of Telangana agitation. A situation prevailed once that Congress and TDP leaders in Telangana were terrified to criticize KCR as he might brand them as anti-Telangana. Now, KCR is using his power as the chief minister to persuade or force or blackmail other parties leaders to join the TRS. The joining of former minister Mandava Venkateswara Rao is just one small example. The Reunification is needed badly for KCR to save his party from the rising wave of dissatisfaction among different sections especially farmers and anti-backwardness activists.
