Hyderabad: In the wake of opposition parties staging protest for new districts of Gadwal, Jagaon and Siricila, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to reconsider his decision on zeroing in 27 districts. Thinking that the present agitation would affect the Telangana government politically, KCR is learnt to have decided to give a thought on the demand for the three districts.
Irrespective of the draft notification issued earlier, the Chief Minister is considering various points suggested by the TRS leaders if the agreed to the demands of three new districts.
As part of this, the Chief Minister gave his nod to carve out new district Siricilla with 13 mandals during a meeting held with leaders of Karimnagar districts at his Camp Office in Hyderabad on Monday morning. Siricilla is being represented by IT and Panchayat Raj Minister K Taraka Rama Rao.
It is also decided in the meeting that Huzurabad will continue in Karimnagar district rather being merged with Warangal district. It is also decided that Manthani village will be made a revenue division.
Before issuing a final notification on the reorganisation of new districts, KCR is keen on convening an all-party meeting in order to solve the doubts and apprehensions of the political parties.
Finance Minister Etela Rajender, Rajya Sabha member K Keshava Rao, Karimnagar district MLAs, MLCs and Karimnagar district Collector Neetu Prasad were also present in the meeting.
