Telangana Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced a bonanza to the party workers. Addressing the plenary session of the party at Khammam on Wednesday he told the restless party workers that he would soon fill about 4000 vacancies in the government bodies with the TRS workers, who fought for Telangana with dedication.
In a month or two, he promised, he would nominate those dedicated party leaders to the governing bodies such as temple committees, market-yards, zilla Ganthalaya Samsthas etc.
The appointment he had made yesterday has lent some credence to the announcement, even though it belated. Because many of the senior party leaders have been waiting for some recognition for the past 22 months. He appointed Prashant Reddy, an MLA from Nizambad district, as the chairman of Mission Baghiratha. Similarly, he appointed noted scholar Devulapalli Prabhakar Rao as the chairman , Official Language Commission, and Mallepalli Lakshmaiah, a journalist, as the project director of Budhavanam Project.
He urged the party leaders not to feel let down in case they did not get any posting. ” It doesn’t mean that only those who got government positions are great and others not,” he told them. “Party is equally important. The party and the government should work in tandem like the two horses of a cart,” he said.
He reiterated that every house in Telangana state would get a water tap by 2017 with government expenditure. ” If it is not done, I won’t ask for votes in 2019 elections,” he said.
Stating that the people were the real bosses of Telangana, the CM asked them to be vigilant in preventing the corruption in the implementation of the projects in the state. He called upon the delegates present in the conference venue to send their suggestions on a paper to him through Khammam district president on government programs and policies.
KCR began his speech with a popular poem written by Enugu Lakshman Kavi,
He advised the people to give fitting reply to the critics of the Telangana government. He praised the people of Telangana as Dhiirulu as mentioned in the poem, who never quit the mission they are on come what may. It was this quality of tenacity that was responsible for the achievement of Telangana, he praised.
