The CPI-M public meeting held in Hyderabad on Sunday to mark the finale of Maha Jana Padayatra by the party team headed by Tammineni Veerabhadram was a huge success. The Mahajana padayatra was held for ‘Social Justice and Development of Telangana’ which covered almost 4000 kilometers in 31 districts for five-and-a-half months. On the contrary, the very next day CPM leaders of Warangal district switched sides to TRS in the presence of KTR and Kadiyam SriHari. KTR addressing the meeting said “KCR is the real Communist as he always thinks about the sufferings of the public. Even though he is not in a Left Party, he is implementing the agenda of Communists completely by undertaking new welfare schemes for the welfare of downtrodden classes”. He deplored that the communist party in the country is not realizing its principles.
NTR used to claim that he is the real-leftist. Raghuveera Reddy said that YSR is a big communist. Even Anjaiah used to speak in those terms. On similar lines, Prime Minister Modi called himself “Pradan Sevak”. Ironically all these leaders criticise communist leaders but prefer to identify themselves with the left parties. Apart from votes and seats, people are attracted to communism. Despite the call from KCR to halt Tammineni’s Padayatra, he could complete it without any hindrances.
KTR also said that “the local CPM leaders are criticising our government for the sake of political mileage”. The leaders are just trying to convey that the ideology of communism is great but the leaders who are following it are not. KCR’s communism is on analogous to Vajpayee’s Gandhian Socialism. It is because of people’s interest in socialism and communism, leaders try to associate themselves with these words.
KTR further said “Even Kerala CM and CPM politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan during his meeting with CM KCR here on Sunday lauded the welfare schemes being implemented by the TRS government”. In his interview Pinarayi Vijayan clearly said that they will maintain friendly relations between the states but will not politically support TRS policies. It is unreasonable to use the CM visit for political campaign.
