Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao finally spoke on the Nalgonda Lok Sabha seat, which would fall vacant if sitting MP Gutha Sukhendar Reddy resigns. KCR thinks that there is hardly any possibility for by-election and even questioned “why should there be one?”
Furthermore, he accused the media for writing about things that are not going to happen. He said that TRS would win any bypoll.
On the other hand, TPCC MLA from Nalgonda Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said that he is willing to contest in the by-elections to the Nalgonda seat. Even TDP MLA Revanth Reddy expressed interest to contest in the bypoll.
As per the reports, TRS leadership was planning to make sitting Sukhender Reddy resign from his parliamentary position, so that he could head Telangana farmers’ coordination committee. To prepare the cadre for 2019 elections and boost their morale, TRS supremo reportely wanted to conduct a bypoll on similar lines to the Nandyal byelection in Andhra Pradesh
Nonetheless, KCR’s refraining from committing about Nalgonda bypoll is something to be deliberated by all the parties in the state.
