TRS President and Telangana CM K Chandrasekhara Rao is going to renew his efforts for formation of Federal Front soon. As part of this, he is expected to meet with Orissa CM and Biju Janata Dal leader Navin Patnaik in Bhubaneswar on December 24. KCR’s is immediate target is to win over favour of the regional parties which are ruling in different states.
KCR’s game plan is to form a non-Congress and non-BJP national level front but rivals accuse him of trying to divide anti-BJP vote under the pretext of this third front. True to the suspicions of rival leaders, KCR is also planning to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi in fourth week of December itself. This meeting is likely to be confirmed soon. TDP leaders allege a secret deal between KCR and the BJP leadership at the national level.
After getting massive victory in early elections, KCR is in an upbeat mood and he is intensifying his efforts with focus on the parliamentary elections in April-May 2019. The TRS chief has plenty of time now to concentrate all his energies on his plans for Delhi politics. But his AP counterpart N. Chandrababu Naidu has to deal with the Assembly and Parliamentary elections together. Already, Naidu has begun attacking KCR on the issue of Federal Front saying that any such third front would eventually benefit the Modi government only. The next few months will see a showdown between Naidu and KCR over their ambitions to dominate national political scene.
