Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) supremo and chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is relying on the Assembly formula to repeat the success in Lok Sabha elections as part of his Mission-16. KCR aims to capture 16 seats out of 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in Telangana, leaving Hyderabad seat to his friendly party AIMIM. Before Assembly elections, TRS had successfully reached out to all the beneficiaries, estimated to be over one crore, of more than 400 welfare schemes to seek votes. According to party sources, KCR will write personal letters to all the beneficiaries highlighting the welfare schemes and how they’re benefiting them, while asking them to vote for TRS in Lok Sabha elections.
Towards this, TRS has already prepared a comprehensive data of beneficiaries and letters signed by KCR will be sent to them. Moreover, MPs will also send their personal letters highlighting the several welfare schemes. TRS party cadres will also directly interact with beneficiaries enquiring about implementation of schemes and if any grievances.
TRS in 2014 elections won 12 Lok Sabha elections and Congress bagged just two seats, while BJP, AIMIM and TDP ended up with one seat each.
The Mission-16 is crucial for KCR to steer his mission Federal Front at the Centre. If TRS along with AIMIM sweeps Lok Sabha elections and wins all the 17 MP seats in Telangana, then that will give him a more than comfortable position in convincing other regional parties. Moreover, target-16 will no doubt put KCR in advantageous position in lobbying task with the Centre, said a political analyst.
