Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao instructed the officials to increase the quota of double-bed room houses allotted to Nizambad town, the headquarters of Nizambad Lok Sabha constituency which his daughter Kavita represents.
After the inauguration of 2BHK houses near IDH colony in Secunderabad last week, the demand for the houses has gone up. Chief minister inaugurated the colony in a spectacular function and said these houses represent self respect of the poor. The average cost of construction per unit is Rs 7.90 lakh and Rs. 1.33 lakh has been spent on developing infrastructure. The house is built with on 580 sq.ft with the provision of all amenities. The plan is to build 400 houses for each assembly segment in Telangana’s 119 constituencies in the first phase.
But, Kavita wanted more units for Nizambad Assembly constituency that falls in her Nizambad Lok Sabha constituency. Accompanied by local MLA B Ramesh and TRS Jagityal in-charge Sanjay, Kavita called on her father chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, and placed her demand for more number of houses for Nizambad town. She told her father that four hundred houses allotted for Nizambad were not adequate given the huge demand for the houses. She demanded 1500 houses. KCR immediately conceded the demand and instructed the officials to take necessary steps to increase the quota of Nizambad Assembly constituency.
As the delegation is led by the none other than his daughter, chief minister assured them that he was increasing the share of Nizambad using chief minister’s discretionary quota. He also promised to release adequate funds for underground drainage in Nizambad. He also assured them he would visit Nizambad and jagityal towns.
Kavita is the third most visible face of Telangana after KCR, the other being her brother and IT minister K Taraka Ramarao and irrigation minister T Hareesh Rao, her uncle. Originally, Nizambad didn’t fall in the area of TRS influence. But, in 2014 Kavita reversed the political order and hoisted the pink flag driving out the Congress and TDP. Now, her aim is to make the constituency a fortress for the party. Getting 1500 2BHK houses sanctioned for the town is the part of her strategy first to gain control over the town.
