After spending sufficient time towards formulating various unique welfare schemes in the newly formed state, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is seems no concentrating now on their implementation. He was said to be discontented with tardy implementation of several flagship programmes and started transforming himself as `task master’.
He has given clear signal that all the IAS officials in the state posted in key departments have to work hard to stay in their desired positions or prepare for a transfer. As he has already completed half of his term and hardly two years are left for the next elections, Chief Minister is now seen serious in meeting most of his poll promises, for which he has entrusted the responsibility of reaching targets to top officials.
Indicating complete freedom to officials in discharging their duties, he assured them that they can perform their duties without any pressure from any quarters. But at the same time, he also made it clear that those who performed well would only continue in the mainstream posts.
He is mainly taking task into top officials who are overseeing the affairs of key departments, besides district collectors. The prime departments for the chief minister are irrigation, housing, health, BC, SC, ST and Minority Welfare, education, agriculture, rural development, panchayat raj and roads and buildings.
The Chief Minister stated that he is particular to get time-bound progress in the implementation of all programmes. During his recent review meetings with the Secretaries of these departments, he has particularly enquired about status of all prestigious programmes and expressed his displeasure over delays.
He is said to be particular for timely execution of two-bedroom houses, modernisation of primary and secondary health care centres, land acquisition for irrigation projects, implementation of self-employment schemes and other welfare schemes for all communities and farmers’ issues. District Collectors were also instructed to make difference in the administration by reaching all the benefits to the needy without any delay.
