Telangana State CM Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao’s 4-day Delhi Tour has been abruptly called off on the first day itself. This development did raise some eyebrows in the political circles. After the State Cabinet Meet last evening in Hyderabad, KCR flew to Delhi today morning to discuss the ‘New Zonal System’ for government jobs with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
KCR met Central Home Minister Rajnath Singh and discussed the same today morning. Close sources confirmed that the TS CM also brought up the unfulfilled commitments that were inducted in the AP Bifurcation Bill. KCR’s 4-day tour also included one-on-one meetings with PM Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind.
Despite the valiant efforts, KCR failed to secure Modi’s appointment. Sources close to the PMO office stated that PM’s foreign tour is the reason behind the rejection of the appointment. Without meeting the President, the TS CM returned back to Hyderabad in the evening.
While this might be a common thing in general, the current political environment doesn’t let us see it that way. Only time will tell whether it was coincidence, or just the unwillingness from 7, Lok Kalyan Marg (PM’s official residence).
