Telangana Congress leaders are not losing any occasion to strike against Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao. Now they are leaving no stone to take advantage from Rao’s sudden trip to national capital to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under the guise of seeking central help from the revenue losses registering due to sudden demonetization of higher value notes.
Pointing out the chief minister’s silence over this Modi’s move, when BJP’s long standing allay Shiva Sena also is protesting on streets against this decision, they accuses Rao is more worried to convert his black money, than attending public miseries at banks and ATMs.
Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Mohammad Shabbir Ali asked why chief minister is not responding when so far seven people died in Telangana state following demonetization. He accused that KCR has been trying to be friendly with the Center only to makes his `black money’ as `white’.
Congress deputy leader in assembly D K Aruna alleged that KCR’s sudden Delhi trip was intended only to exchange his corrupt earnings. Recalling that KCR claimed Telangana was a rich and revenue-surplus state, she wondered that why is he now seeking Centre’s help? She lamented that under TRS regime there is only corruption and no development in the state.
Former MP Ponnam Prabhakar said Rao’s face turned pale since the time of the demonetisation announcement, leaving it to the listeners to infer why.
However, TRS leaders strongly refuted Congress leader’s accusations stating them as `baseless’ and coming from out of `desperation’. They asserted that their party had hearty fully welcomed Prime Minister’s decision. Asserting that for chief minister Rao state interests are top most priority, party MLC Karne Prabhakar said they want to resolve issues amicably with the center.
Party MP Burla Narasaiah Goud said demonetization caused a revenue loss of Rs 1200 crore to Telangana state. However, he said his party is welcoming economic reforms for the larger interests of the country and also people. Stating that Chief Minister will discuss problems set to be evaporates due to deficit budget with Prime Minister, he is confident that a solution will only emerge through negotiations.
