KCR’s ‘Federal Front’ proposal is seen as an alternative to NDA (led by BJP) and UPA (led by Congress) at the national politics by many regional parties. Beginning from Mamata Banerjee, rumours surfaced that even Chandrababu Naidu will be joining it. The spat between TDP and TRS MPs in the parliament meant the proposal was on hold.
It is learned that few key leaders in CPM party have proposed joining KCR’s ‘Federal Front’. Though there wasn’t any official confirmation from the CPM party, insider sources said that they are looking into his matter. Speaking to the media, CPM General Secretary, Sitaram Yechury said, ‘we are yet to discuss on ‘Federal Front’. We will take a decision as the elections approach’.
In the politburo meeting, we will decide whether to go along with the Federal Front, or fight alone’. Few insider sources confirmed that CPM will likely join the ‘Federal Front’ alliance, given its bitterness over BJP and NDA.
Meanwhile, a section of political analysts still doubts whether Federal Front will ever be established successfully.
