Few days after Pradesh Congress party’s summoned survey said that the Congress would get about 70 seats if elections are held today, in the 119 members Telangana Assembly, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s own survey said to be assuring 68 per cent people’s support to the ruling TRS.
Dismissing opposition’s campaign that the ruling party losing public support, Chief Minister has `leaked’ his own survey asserting firm grip of his party on the state politics.
It is practice of the Chief Minister to commission several agencies to conduct surveys to know public mood on various issues related to his government. Ahead of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) polls when he claimed that TRS would get 100 seats, even ruling party leaders hesitated to convince themselves.
To heat up the poll campaign, Chief Minister’s son and IT Minister K T Rama Rao announced that he would resign from the cabinet if the party fails to get such a number of seats. After the polls, every one surprised with one-sided victory of the ruling party.
Likewise, ahead of by-elections to Warangal Loksabha seat, KCR revealed that his survey indicates 70 per cent votes to TRS candidate. KCR also succeeded in predicting results of by-polls to Narayankhed and Paleru assembly segments.
The latest survey was said to be commissioned by the Chief Minister to know the public mood after 30 months of his administration. As he has to face elections two years from now, he seems to be preparing from now itself.
Stating that 68 per cent people are now with TRS, Chief Minister ridiculed Congress claims of returning to power. “It is impossible for the Congress to gain power in coming years. With a desperation only Congress leaders have been creating hurdles to various projects taken up by the government”, he alleged.
However, Chandrasekhar Rao is confident that people will not be carried away by such malicious campaign of the opposition parties and they can witness what is happening at their own doorsteps.
