It is known news that Priya Prakash Varrier became latest internet sensation after the release of a bit from ‘Oru Adaar Love’ movie. Directed by Omar, the teaser, the song and all went viral immediately on the net. Heroine’s eye-winking gesture took the internet by storm. But soon, police case filed in Falaknuma police station of Hyderabad by some Muslim youngmen alleging that their sentiments were hurt as the lyrics mentions about Prophet Mohammed and his wife in a blasphemous manner.
Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan extended his support to the song. He reminded that the song was aired on Radio in 1978 itself and the song was sung in Muslim marriages for the last few decades. Omar’s team just re-used those lyrics penned by Jabbar. He posted in facebook –
“The controversy reminds us that fundamentalists, whichever section they belong to, hate all expressions of art. They cannot tolerate the bliss and knowledge common people receive through art and literature. Art and literature are strong weapons against religious fundamentalism and communalism and we need to stand by the followers of liberal arts. In this matter, if anybody suspects that Hindu and Muslim fundamentalists were hand in glove, they cannot be blamed.”
However, CM’s political opponents criticized him for caring too much about a film song rather than the other problems faced by people.
