Former TDP Leader and current BJP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy is a name that needs no introduction in political circles. He has an association close to 30 years with the TDP. He won as an MLA for 5 times and even held a ministry in the united Andhra Pradesh cabinet. After the Telangana movement became intense and took a fierce shape, Nagam Janardhan Reddy left TDP and founded ‘Telangana Nagaara’. He took part as an independent and won in the by-elections that followed.
According to the latest news in political circles, Nagam Janardhan Reddy is quite unhappy over BJP’s actions in the state of Telangana. He also warned the party’s central administration that, if things don’t change for good, he might well leave the party. He did give a deadline until March 18th (Ugadi).
With no response from the BJP’s high command, Nagam is making plans to leave the party, and join Congress pretty soon. Even Nagam’s meet with Rahul Gandhi recently in Delhi has fuelled these speculations.
Rahul Gandhi has already scheduled a special bus tour in Telangana. The latest trend in the Telangana political circles is that Nagam is planning to join Congress in the presence of Rahul Gandhi.
Many gambled about Nagam’s joining in Congress, along with Revanth Reddy. Given the party’s situation, Nagam backed off and had given the party a deadline. The 2019 Elections will be quite exciting in both the Telugu States along with the Centre.
