The Center is considering the idea of sending a new Governor to Andhra Pradesh in place of governor Narasimhan. As per the reports, it is contemplating to send Pondicherry Lt. Governor Kiran Bedi to AP. Also, former Principal Secretary CVSK Sharma’s name is consideration for Telangana Governor, if reports are to be believed. The decision will be taken at the end of Parliament sessions, most probably.
The AP BJP unit has already asked the center to appoint a new governor to Andhra Pradesh. Following the division of the state in 2014, ESL Narasimhan is the joint governor for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The state BJP president, Visakhapatnam MP Haribabu has written a letter to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on 11th January to appoint a new governor to AP. As the governor is staying and operating from Hyderabad, he was not able to give his full focus on AP, Haribabu wrote in that letter.
The change of governors is inevitable in the wake of the recent political developments. The BJP seems to be of opinion that dynamic lady Kiran Bedi will be definitely a good choice as the governor of AP. The BJP leaders also informed their high command that the AP would not be able to provide Raj Bhavan etc to governor as these buildings are not yet ready in AP.
