Kohli hit wicket
Rajkot: India is trial by 126 runs at lunch as Ravichandran Ashwin and Wriddiman Saha’s 50-run stand helped the home-side reach 411 runs for the loss of six wickets on the fourth day of the first test match against England at Rajkot in Gujarat.
Ajinkya Rahane and Virat Kohli were the early scalps in the first session of the fourth day on Saturday. Kohli and former Indian cricket Nayan Mongia are the only two Indian batsmen to get out hit-wicket in both tests and ODIs. This is the second time for Kohli to get out hit-wicket against England.
Meanwhile, former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan expressed unhappiness over the pitch at Rajkot. Taking to twitter, he wrote that the Rajkot pitch is not good for test cricket… just not fair battle between bat and bowl. #INDvENG.
Earlier, Cheteshwar Pujara and Murali Vijay scored fighting hundred on day 3 in reply to the England’s 537 in the first innings. Vijay smashed 9 fours and 4 massive sixers in the ground in his gritty 126 runs of 301 balls.
