Kommineni Srinivasa Rao (KSR) is reportedly considering joining Kapil Group’s HMTV. Kommineni was initially rumored to be joining Sakshi Group. But as per our media sources, he didn’t join Sakshi as he wasn’t offered a desired pay package. So he decided to join HMTV and will be working with K Nageshwar who is the editor in chief of both HMTV and Hans India. HMTV has been a laggard in TAM and BARC ratings and is generally between 10-12th in telugu news channel rankings.
As per media sources, none of the other channels except Sakshi didn’t even give him an offer fearing backlash from AP government. Since HMTV is a predominantly Telangana news channel they didn’t have much concern in hiring him. Kommineni recently wrote an open letter that AP government has exerted serious pressure on his previous employer NTV and so he decided to move on to protect the news channel. A number of TDP sympathizers feel that Kommineni has been pursuing an anti-TDP agenda from 2009 and especially with his surveys pre-general elections.
We wish KSR all the best in his new role.
