Writers turning into directors is not a new thing in Tollywood. We have already seen a bunch of talented writers who made their way into the direction department and succeeding big-time. Like many of his contemporaries, ace writer Kona Venkat wanted to take a step further and make a name for himself as a director. But, the flop show of the movies, for which he penned scripts, in the last one year strongly impacted his career and the plans didn’t materialise.

Stating on why he didn’t take up direction , he said that the star directors of Tollywood are in need for his scripts and this has made him focus on writing keeping his direction plans aside. Many in the industry made fun of him after listening to his illogical statements. Time and again, Kona Venkat came up with a ridiculous reason for not turning into a director. In a recent interview, Kona pointed Trivikram Srinivas and Koratala Siva and stated that there is a huge dearth of good scripts in Tollywood at present because both these writers turned into directors and this has forced him to pen scripts for the other directors. Kona further added that he could have easily became a director had Koratala continued to be a script writer for a couple of years more.

Kona Venkat has the habit of passing the buck for his failures and these ridiculous statements once again intend to invite mockery on him from industry people and audience.
