BRS working president KT Rama Rao gave a detailed presentation on Musi river, explaining the efforts made by KCR Sarkar for Rejuvenation of Musi river during BRS tenure. He questioned the logic of Revanth Reddy Sarkar in paying Rs 141 Cr for preparing Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Musi Riverfront Development, when BRS Govt had already done the major part of work.
“CM Revanth Reddy has once again displayed his ignorance and spread lies on Musi Riverfront Development. He said that he has never said Rs 1.5 lakh crores. He said he has called for DPR with Rs 141 Cr and even said that he will pay for DPR by selling his assets if Musi project does not take off. My question is why do you want to even pay for DPR, when BRS Govt has already completed major part of Musi rejuvenation works and laid out a clear vision ahead?” pointed out KT Rama Rao, giving a presentation on Musi Riverfront Development works.
“Revanth Reddy has said that previous Governments have completely neglected Musi. I completely agree with it. Past Governments led by Congress and TDP, of which Revanth Reddy was a former member, completely neglected Musi. No Government cared for Musi until KCR came to power. It was only after KCR came to power, we brought a report from Central Pollution Control Board in 2015 and found out that pollution in Musi water was at dangerous levels. To clean and rejuvenate Musi, we formed Musi Riverfront Development Corporation in 2017,” said KTR, explaining about the efforts taken up by BRS Govt for Musi rejuvenation.
“We had envisaged a budget of about Rs 16,000 Cr for complete Musi rejuvenation. We have also set up STPs all over Hyderabad by spending Rs 3800 Cr, to ensure that sewerage and pollutants do not flow into Musi. BRS Govt had also okayed the proposal to bring Godavari water to Osmansagar (Gandipet) with an outlay of about Rs 1100 Cr. Once Godavari water is diverted, automatically Musi gets cleaned,” explained KT Rama Rao listing out BRS Govt’s efforts in that direction.
“When BRS Govt had already done major part of Musi rejuvenation work, why does Revanth Reddy need Rs 1.5 lakh crore? We have also called for various proposals from globally reputed companies as part of Design Challenge for Musi beautification works and those designs are readily available with Municipal Affairs and Urban Development Ministry. Now what is the need for spending Rs 141 Cr on DPR, when Govt does not even have money for basic necessities?” questioned KTR, pointing out that Revanth Reddy-led Congress Government priorities are not right.
KTR alleged that Telangana has become an ATM for Rahul Gandhi and CM Revanth Reddy has taken up Musi Riverfront Development only to loot and send the money to Delhi, while several election promises made by Congress are yet to be implemented.
