BRS working president and former Minister Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao is planning to do a Padayatra in 2026. The young charismatic leader revealed his plans to take up a Padayatra, while speaking to media persons and his party men in Suryapet.
“Congress Govt has failed an all counts. CM Revanth Reddy has lost credibility. There is not even an iota of chance of Congress returning back. After seeing Revanth Reddy’s Governance, Telangana public have known the greatness of KCR,” said KT Rama Rao in a chit chat.
“There is no doubt that BRS will come back to power. I’m moved by spirited fight by BRS leaders and cadres against the failures and misdeeds of Revanth Reddy Sarkar. We have to continue the same momentum. After Warangal public meeting, I will focus on building and strengthening party at all levels this year. After putting in frame a robust and powerful party structure, I will do a Padayatra next year,” further said KT Rama Rao revealing his plans to take up a Padayatra.
KTR had been mulling to do Padayatra for a while, but there has been no clarity on it. Finally he revealed on Thursday that he is sure to take up a footmarch in 2026.
Padayatras have a special place in Telugu politics. Especially leaders who were in Opposition have rode to power after taking up Padayatra.
Late leader YS Rajashekara Reddy was the first to make an everlasting impression with his Padayatra. He became CM in 2004 after his historic Padayatra. Later his son YS Jaganmohan Reddy also took up a marathon Yatra to win AP people’s hearts.
Though not as as popular as YSR and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, even Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh have also done Padayatra when they were in Opposition. Firebrand Telangana CM Revanth Reddy also took up a very popular Padayatra.
Seems like KTR has realized the importance of Padayatra for an Opposition leader in Telugu politics. Even he has decided to sail with the unfailing political sentiment, to recreate his political destiny.
