Hyderabad: Vijayawada former MP Lagadapati Rajagopal has reiterated that he wouldn’t contest on any party ticket in the forthcoming elections.
The former MP of 15th Lok Sabha made a courtesy visit to TDP woman leader and former ZPTC Daggumalli Bharati, who had arthroplasty and taking rest at home in Munagapadu village near Konduru in Andhra Pradesh. Lagadapati also consoled the family members of deceased TDP leader Kona Bikshameshwar Rao.
Interestingly, during Lagadapati visit to the village, all the leaders from constituency and Mandal levels from TDP, Congress and YSRCP, had assembled on the occasion and this triggered speculation over the Lagadapati’s re-entry into politics.
Shrugging off such reports, Lagadapati said: “I also heard such rumours that I am contesting from Eluru. But, those are baseless reports. I am not contesting on any party ticket in the next elections.”
Mylavaram AMC chairman Narasimha Rao, Congress Mylavaram in-charge B Kiran, T Uma, MPP V Tirupati Rao and other leaders were present on the occassion.
Lagadapati Rajagopal, is a founding director of Lanco Group. He won as the 15th Lok Sabha MP from the Vijaywada constituency on Congress ticket. Lagadapati has resigned from Parliament and also quit politics after the Telangana Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha.
