Anand Malligavad, known as the “Lakeman,” is joining forces with HYDRAA to breathe new life into Hyderabad’s cherished lakes. Anand has already worked his magic on over 85 lakes and ponds across India, including in Bengaluru, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Odisha.
HYDRAA’s exciting first phase will focus on restoring four key lakes: Sunnam Cheruvu in Madhapur, Kukatpally Lake, Appa Cheruvu, and Errakunta in Bachupally. These lakes have recently seen some cleanup action, with HYDRAA removing illegal structures to pave the way for restoration.
Anand’s lake revival technique is a three-step process. First, he removes built-up mud and silt. Next, he creates a natural water cleaning system. Finally, he plants native species to boost the lake’s ecosystem.
The project is already underway, with the first video meeting completed. Soon, Anand will visit Hyderabad to personally guide HYDRAA in their lake revival efforts.
This collaboration between HYDRAA and the “Lakeman” brings hope for cleaner, healthier lakes in Hyderabad. With this move , Hyderabad residents can benefit both the environment and the community.
