Notwithstanding the protest from Opposition parties including the threat of fast by Janasena president Pawan Kalyan over the decision to acquire another 2,300 acres of fertile land in Guntur district , Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday night issued the notification invoking the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.
The State government designated 26 special deputy collectors as the land acquisition officers. These special deputy collectors have been so far working as Competent Authorities in Land Pooling Scheme by performing all functions of Collectors under section 3 (g) of the Act.
In the GO has been issued by the Revenue (LAND ACQUISITION) Department
in exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 (g) of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.
These special deputy collectors have been designated as acquisition officers for 26 land acquisition units in the new capital.
Earlier in the day, Agriculture Minister P Pulla Rao and Social Welfare Minister Ravela Kishore Babu said orders had been given to the Guntur District Collector to acquire remaining 2,300 acres of land for the new capital.
Villages that come under the new Go are:
Krishnayapalem, Nowlur, Kuragallu, Nidimarru, Undavalli, Penumaka, Tadepalli, Malkapuram, Borupalem, Abbarajupuram, Dondapadu, Pitchikalapalem, Inavolu, Rayapudi, Kondamarajupalem,Lingayapalem, Uddnadarayunipalem, Nekkallu, Nelapadu, Sakhamuru, Thulluru, Velagapudi, Venkatapalem, Mandadam, Ananthavaram.
YSR Congress took strong objection to the GO. Party’s Managalagiri MLA A Ramakrishna Reddy said the GO issued to acquire the fertile and betrays the chief minister Naidu’s insatiable real -estate appetite for lands.
He said some he would pay wages for his sin of depriving farmers of their lands.
It is not known yet what Pawan Kalyan says about the GO. He has not tweeted anything today. In the meantime, CPM today announced its support to the August 29 bandh call given by YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
