The two main left parties in Andhra Pradesh, who have been attempting to forge alliance with Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan or YSRCP Chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy, seems to be vexed with their `power politics’ as they were not showing any interest for united struggles against the government policies.
Both the Left parties CPI and CPM have been making attempts for their political survival in the state. For the first time in Andhra Pradesh, left parties failed to win a single seat in the state Assembly.
Realising that on their own they cant make their presence in the state, they have been making several attempts to find out a potential alliance partner. While CPI has attempted to lure Pawan Kalyan, after the later came out openly against Narendra Modi’s regime, CPM has been attempting to cultivate close relationship with Jaganmohan Reddy.
CPI state secretary K Rama Krishna even met Pawan Kalyan to discuss `prevailing political scenario’ in the state. However, for the first time CPI national secretary Dr K Narayana came out criticising the politics of these both leaders. He may be the first Left leader, who has flayed their attitude.
Narayana ridiculed that both Pawan Kalyan and Jaganmohan Reddy were indulging in power politics. He blamed that both leaders were not interested in fighting for the solution of people’s problems, but only for power.
He has also admitted that it would be difficult for the Left to bring all the opposition political parties into a single platform to fight against ruling party on people’s problems. Accusing opposition parties in the state for failing to question the ruling party on issues and people’s problems, he said now the field is left to the Left parties.
However, he was too silent on the issue of ‘Left Unity’ in the state. For the last couple of years their preaching’s for `Left Unity’ remaining on papers, but hardly no progress is seen.
