West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is believing that TRS chief and CM Chandrasekhara Rao will support anti-BJP alliance after the coming general election. This is the reason why she sticks to her stand that there can be an anti-Modi alliance after the election rather than before the election. Her main concern is that her name will not be considered for PM post if there is a pre-poll alliance.
AP CM Chandrababu Naidu is demanding a pre-poll alliance so as not to miss any opportunity to prevent Modi from becoming PM again. But Mamata says there is no need for any urgency in this respect. Her conviction is that anti-BJP parties will somehow come together after the polls. She dismissed rumours about TRS and said that KCR was still in touch with her. But the pink boss is known for his politics of sheer opportunism.
Analysts say like Sonia Gandhi, Mamata is also becoming a victim of KCR’s many lies. It is well known how the TRS chief made false promises on his party merger with the Congress prior to the separate statehood. Once Telangana was formed, KCR systematically demolished the Congress party which is not able to recover those after shocks even now.
