Lok Satta Party (LSP) alleged that the present unrest among the members of Kapu community was the result of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu attempt to exploit the tensions within and among the castes in the state. The present movement of Kapus was the direct fall out of the Naidu’s attempt to exploit the Kapus demand for the BC status to win the 2014 elections.

Lok Satta Party Andhra Pradesh general secretary Bheeshetty Babji alleged that Chandrababu had assured Kapus that he would include Kapus in BC category but did not fulfill his commitment ever 18 months after coming to power.

Demanded immediate implementation of the assurance he had given to the Kapus, the Lok Satta leader alleged that Chandrababu he will fully supported the demand even while knowing the facts that the reservations have limitations and this would ignite similar demands from the poor existing in all castes. “TDP president created differences between Thurpu Kapus-Kapus and Kapus-BCs. The CM has to admit his mistake instead of trying to make responsible someone for the Tuni Train burning incident,” he said.

The Lok Satta pary found fault with the Kapu leaders for not giving time to the government to reveal its stand on Kapu reservations. ” The destruction of government assets was nothing but destroying their own eyes,” he said and suggested that the government should consider the Lok Satta proposal on reservations to solve the Kapu reservations tangle. Babji also urged all castes, including other castes and political parties to th ink positively on reservations.
