After the stories about Nara Lokesh’s asset declarations surfaced, the TDP general secretary on social media refuted all the allegations and also tried to counter the opposition party. He started off by saying “We are the first political family in the Country to voluntarily declare our assets”.
Explaining the dynamics of his stakes Lokesh said that “My shares worth Rs 1.64 crore in Heritage represent a dynamic wealth as stock market prices fluctuate”. However as the Election Commission has mandated the market price to be given as on date of listing, he has listed the market value of the assets.
The TDP general secretary rubbished the allegations about Heritage Foods selling its retail business wing to Future Retail Ltd and retaining only 3.65% stake worth Rs 295 crore in it. He said that the Heritage Foods was a consolidated business unit comprising dairy, retail and other miscellaneous operation. The Retail division was not profitable. So after the sale, the share prices of the other divisions have seen a sharp rise. The TDP leader further held that he had a steady and almost stagnant economic assets base.
After explaining the dynamics of value of his assets, Lokesh took a dig at journalists of Sakshi. He deplored “Sakshi is the most morally and ethically bankrupt newspaper in the Country, managed as a vehicle for political gains”. He even questioned Sakshi reporters’ comprehension of the issue regarding declaration, as their account contains so many false and misleading statements. He asked people not to buy Sakshi, or visit their website as they are anti-AP and anti-people in every word they write and publish. Furthermore, he tunnelled through Y S Jagan’s cases and challenged him for an open debate. Lokesh said “I have called him for a debate before. He never turned up. I am ready for a debate again on this issue.”
As always, Lokesh who never sheds the legacy baggage concluded his treatise by reciting the greatness of his father and grandfather.
